A couple of car cleaning questions

1. With a pressure washer do you.... snow foam, rinse, 2 bucket wash, rinse? Or have I missed a step out got it wrong?

2. To snow foam do you use any shampoo or do you need specific stuff?

3. Will either of the autoglym wheel cleaners work/be safe to use on an exhaust tip?

One other thing.... do you just leave snow foam to do it's thing or do you need to agitate or anything?

I would love to have the time to spend cleaning to this kind of detail, but I don't!

The plan is to snowfoam to help the washing process, then wash, dry, wax as before.

I'll give the previously mentioned snowfoam a go

I do want to get rid of some tar spots though, I smudged a big one trying to get it off with ordinary shampoo and elbow grease. What's the best method and product for doing so?

My plan was.... Snow foam, rinse, Wash, rinse, Autoglym Aqay Wax, Dry.... where in there should I de-clay, without adding in too many steps! As to whether Aquawax is the best, I'm aware it's probably not but it's very very easy and looks good. The car is in great condition but it does 20,000 miles a year so I'm not after concours level here, just a lovely clean, shiny car!

ARGH!

I washed the car yesterday and today discovered these...

This is in the side skirt, it's not deepo but very long! Is this going to buff out? Any recommendations? I have no idea whether I did this with grit when washing it, or whether someone has managed to damage my car when it was parked up. I have never caused any damage like this when washing cars before!



Any I noticed this on the wheel when I was washing it, but it looked more like a tar smear then, which wasn't coming off with the wheel cleaner. Looks worse today if anything, but any suggestions? It looks like curb damage but I absaloutely have not curbed it! If it is damaged somehow, is that sortable myself? It feels pretty smooth, but a little rough near the centre.



p.s. I'm fking devestated! The car is in lovely condition and then I notice all this today. The wheel scuff and the sill scuff pretty much line up, so I'm wondering whether someone has managed to do this when my car was parked!

Can you feel the scratches with your finger nail? If so, 9 times out of 10 it'll need paint.
If you can't catch it with your nail, it should polish out.
Pirelli Edition Golf? It'll have fairly tough paint so a machine polish would be in order.

Will AG SRP be good enough, or shall I get something more abrasive; t-cut or something else?

I've always used polishing clothes for polish, but I have a brand new pack of microfiber clothes - will these be good for polishing? If not ill but some new polishing clothes as mine are a bit grubby

I bought some "g3 scratch remover paste" add it looked a bit more serious than the cut.

Followed the instructions, then used SRP as well.

The wheel I forgot to get tar remover so gave a Polish with SRP and I think it is tar and the Polish has removed some. Thoughts? Scratch looks better but isn't perfect. Wheel I think will be perfect if I get the right stuff!
