Hello

I'm awaiting collection of a black car, always wanted one just for the satisfaction of having it clean and glossy, even if its just til you take the first drive on the roads again!

I know the best procedure is wash with two buckets, claybar, polish, wax... but what are the best products to use? Is it worth buying a £10 bottle of Meguiars Gold shampoo, or is it just as effective using my £3 bottle of turtlewax shampoo?

To follow I have a Meguiars clay kit which is fab... and Meguiars NXT Wax. But for in between these stages, what polish would you recommend for a deep wet-look on a black car?

Also, I will be following the polish with Meguiars NXT but it seems to act more like a sealant than a hard wax, and doesn't last too long. Would it be a good idea to apply a layer or two of NXT, and then follow with a layer of hard wax (turtlewax or simoniz for example?) over the top? A tin of that stuff is only around £6 in Halfrauds and didn't know if a hard wax would be worth the extra effort or not!

Thanks

Thanks for the info. Would it be worth the extra effort of waxing with Megs Liquid NXT and then afterwards applying with a coat or two of hard carnauba.... or would you just leave out the liquid NXT altogether and go straight to the hard wax? The NXT really is pretty cruddy for durability but its so much faster and easier to apply.
