Well, the trusty Vienta is up for rego and pink slip on Saturday, and I don't have high hopes. I suspect the oil leaks may fail it and if they do the suspected valve stem seal problems (judging by the smokey start) after 280k means it's probably going to end up costing me a couple of grand. And the formerly superb aircon is becoming erratic.

Which leads to replacement daily driver thoughts. This post may well have been posted in the daily dreaming thread but st may be about to get real.

$10kish daily city runaround+, 3 pedals and good aircon required.

Mazda 6 MPS
Golf GTI mkV
Polo GTI 9N3

All being turbo I have ideas for their future power, maybe. And I'm not even sure I want a turbo for the city.

There are loads of left field thoughts ranging from Jags to NA MX5s to Merc S-Class to Honda City Turbos, some of which breach the criteria, but I could entertain.

There are loads that appear to fit but I can't get along with, XR6 Turbo, old 3-series, various japanese things.

Leading the pack at the moment is a 6MPS and I'm going to drive one on Saturday.

I'm perfectly capable of making my own mistakes but thought it might be fun to consider letting you guys suggest my next mistake.

Or spend on the Vienta, or sleeperise the Vienta, or get something for half the cost and/or a CB400...

Turbo tastic!!!!!!
It is, and it's my first turbo car. On boost feels incredible, until it goes to MRT and then I may find I reframe. That said, a friend has an MRT stage 1 mapped CX7 and they reckon as well as being much quicker it reduces the lag, which obviously is part of the impact.

Are you bringing the turbo nutter or the 80's supercar to our jaunt in May?
It's good in that respect too I guess, means much less excuses for not getting out. I'd rather bring the Porsche but in reality it'll likely be this.

Thanks Liam but I'm alright for cars at the moment, unless you want a straight swap for a '96 Vienta.

Oh dear, my Jaguar itch keeps growing and I've spotted a '95 XJR. The 6 hasn't missed a beat, though the turbo seals need doing at some point. It does everything I could want brilliantly, and reliability is important to me in a daily driver.

And now I'm thinking of having a 2 car fleet of 20 year old Jag and 28 year old Porsche... Oh and an old bike of some sort.

What could go wrong? stloads.
