Ok I am buying this,
One of only two, plus 2, known in Malaysia, it has to have a owner transfer inspection, tomorrow, which will only check the chassis and engine number are as per the log book, but we can't find the engine number, any one know where it is?
Thanks for help.
Its a S130/4if it makes a difference

The lotus Carlton behind is mine, currently being refurbished repainted, bare metal, it's the only one in the country.

Thanks its not there, we have the crabs off, it is 701m 6015 block, and we believe its original I know the history of the car for years, possible the engine number was ground off when it was imported, all sort of things happen when cars are imported here, any way the number will be there by the end of the day.
Thanks for the info

OK inspection done and the ownership transfer if going through, all numbers match, but will take time as the reg owner died 7 years ago, leaving the car to his son, his widow has probate and as the son did not want, it was sold to her brother. I did a deal with the brother, who is giving the money to the widow. But the JPJ (DVLA equivalent are insisting the, widow as executor of the will, transfer to the son, son then transfers to the widow, who transfers to the brother, who transfers to me. You may guess that you have to pay a fee each time the transfer takes place,
My plan is to restore the car but to upgrade, electric cooling fan, electric water pump, electric fuel pump with pressure regulator, electronic ignition and leave it at that already has LPC2 cams and solid drive shafts, I have all these as spares for the Caterham I race.
My Caterham has a1700 cross flow with a pre-engaged starter motor, and I have a spare starter and spare 6 bolt fly wheels with new ring gear. So my question is can I use these on these as a matched pair in place of the inertia starter motor the car currently has.

Actually I've got a few, I have a brand new High torque, and I have an after market one, If the only problem is some how to relocate the solanoid, then I can live with that, the body will come off and engine will be 'built' into the bare chassie, so I could even modify the chassi, I will relpace the fly wheel with the right one for the starter as the bendix will be coming form the other side.
So looks like I can use.
