My new Toy has finally arrived

After much patient waiting my next (and probably last) restoration project has finally arrived into my garage. First impressions seem to match my expectations and an initial examination of the chassis suggests that it is in much better condition than I had feared. I know it looks funny on those tyres but they were just put on to replace those that had perished in the sun. I believe there is only one other example of this particular vehicle/model within the UK. The next few months are likely to be very busy! 
Its a year 1971 Dinalpin - Mexican licenced version of the A110. I found it in a scrap yard on the West Coast of the USA some 6 months ago and I picked it up from the shippers yesterday and is now in my garage near Windsor. Just spent a morning reviewing my purchase and I am quite happy. Paint is flaking but no apparent signs of osmosis, chassis is surprisingly rust free but I will obtain more expert opinion, engine appears seized as I can't turn the crank even with a huge lever. Getting some scrap tyres put on the wheels so that I can make the car mobile. I would guess another week of planning then start the strip and rebuild - it will of course be painted blue. Intended use will be regularity style events not stages. I have a Tornado Talisman for sale to help fund the venture if anyone is interested!

Yes that was my car at the HRCR Open Day - typically it is going the best it has ever done. Some people have remarked on the difficulty on getting in an Alpine - well I completely concur! However a removable steering wheel and some thinner seats set further back 'should' help - a diet on my behalf may also assist!!
