Right Boys and Girls,

BV72's MGB 55mph thread has got me thinking...for sheer humorous piss take we need a '55mph Club'.

My thoughts here are that it should be akin to Ecurie Cod Filet ethos but for those who drive MGB's, drive at 55mph, drive at over 55mph and for all those who do not own or drive an MGB. Simply an exclusively non-exclusive club badge and/or car sticker that will be instantly recognizable to other PH classic car owners. Of course a logo will be needed, this could be '55mph Club' or may be the 'FFC' which could also stand for the 'fking Fast Club'; either way the logo should carry some gravitas similar to HRDC, BRDC, ECF et al. Club rules should be as follows:

1. There are no Club rules
2. No moaners
3. Compulsory humour
4. Rules 1, 2 and 3 are mandatory

Breadvan72 will be Life Honorary Chairman and host the annual club gathering at his place...the invitation to which we'll all gladly accept.

LordBretSinclair to be awarded the annual 'Tart of The year Cup' for consistently posting more pics' of his cars than any other PH'er.

nta16[Nigel] to be Club Treasurer and Esteemed Guardian of the Sacred Glovebox Manual.

Lowdrag to be Club International Representative [Monsignor en France et du Mans].

and Benjj, Club Motorsport Raving Roving Northern Correspondent, similar to DSJ/Jenks but of taller stature and without the beard.

All those who'd like to join add names below

Benjj

PS forgot to add the rofl

Very good, but in my humble opinion a little too car related.

Like the Armed forces Veteran lapel badge covers all three of the services, perhaps something a little more inclusive ? biggrin
Nigel, pls don't say that...it's just taken me 40mins to do this...anyone any good with graphics?

Right, no time wasted, have contacted the PH sticker/t-sheet people for pricing of 50off stickers. Will report back once price rec'd. Suggest we do a Paypal txfr for the cost. Hoping it will be similar to their current price of a few £££'s per sticker. Could you add the number of stickers you require next to your names below:

When you say the stickers will be £££, do you mean more like £ or ££, surely no sticker in the world could be £££, could it? Not that I'm tight or anything, just poor. I drive a 40 year old car ffs! Or should that be ffc?
They sell for £2-£3 so would hope they will complete a sticker run for us at similar price. I agree that anything over that price would be a bit silly...and frankly, I'd look elsewhere if their quote was beyond this price. Realistically it's got to be lower than this as there's the cost of postage to each of our homes too.

Ref' FFS or FFC? Try this for size smile

I'VE JUST HAD A idea ,
and I think it's a good one! With the demise of the tax/RFL/General tax to fund other things instead of roads tax disc, how about using you disc holder to house your FFC membership sticker?? It wont have to be an actual sticker then, just a print out. So down-loadable at home saving ££'s and sadly not contributing to V8250 project car!! tongue outwinkbiggrin
Hi Tony, that's a cracking idea. As above you can see I've slightly amended the AWC logo and could use these in the tax discs holders.

I think that the stickers should be £100 each and the left over cash put towards buying those unfortunate MGB owners a nice TR6 or something decent.
...that's made me drop my dark chocolate covered ginger biscuit in my tea! Ben, you've just earned yourself the quote of the year award smile

so, the list to date based on the first design [I'll rework this for approval/before submitting to printers when back from France]

As the owner of an Alfa that has not turned a wheel in over 17 years can I start a zero MPH section for those of us who have "restoration" projects?
Yes, you are duly appointed Club Registrar of the 0mph Register.

BV, welcome on board...will reply to your PM in a min' - have some Italian'esque news for you.

Johnfm, thought of you earlier today and delighted to read your question as to what the bloody hell is going on? In answer, we haven't a clue but seems to involve a Steady Barker speed of 55mph, much international correspondence, a bunch of club rules and some bugger who keeps forgetting our illustrious colleague RoyC. Oh, and LBS is tarting it up somewhere with his Plymouth Ho'e...

I'll definitely jump on the stickers - how do we go about with the costs?
Right that's enough silliness for one day...off to France in the morning and have yet to pack a bag.

Hrimfaxi/All, I've contacted the PH sticker people asking for approx' pricing. As soon as I receive this from them I'll copy onto the thread. I'm guessing we can either pay by Paypal or I'm happy to arrange with the sticker provider for them to charge and deliver individually to us all. Whichever's easiest for all.

Back next Thursday...Happy 55'ing one and all...

Right my fellow 55'ers, back from the snowy capped hill-ettes of the Haute-Savoie. Really pleased to see the unofficial members list growing daily with a current groupage of 52[!], none of whom travel at 55mph. Have received a reply from the folk at PH t-shirt central who've suggested I contact racesgraphics.net [see below]

>>Morning Andrew

I think the best course here would be if you deal directly with Neil, our sticker partner. I’ve attached his email address so you can reach out to him.

However, he is on holiday currently and back a week from now.

Hope that helps!

I'll contact racegraphics and report back. For those of you still to add your qty required please do so as it will make sense/be cheaper to complete 1off single print run.

PS how did the inaugural meeting go at the Celtic Manor? One hopes no golf was involved. God-forsaken activity that ruins a fine walk...
