Thanks for your help, the guys filling it up before i pick it up so wanted a rough idea. I will be topping it up when i get home and work out a rough mpg from that. I will be fixing the fuel gauge but number one job is tyres!

n that case try reading them rolleyes

getting a Driver's Handbook and reading it before you look for the car would be in there and you'd have known the fuel tank capacity and octane of fuel (originally required) without the need to get from answers from the intraweb
Unfortunately i wasn't near my computer with the notes on but i will be rereading this weekend. Was a little easier to whip my phone out and ask a quick question you see.

he remark was aimed at our dear old deflated Original Poster whose been advised to get a copy since God was a young girl but hasn't bothered

you can always tell when/if they buy a copy and actually read by the questions asked

even new owners with a copy they read are able to answer many questions because they literally have the information at their fingertips

I've seen long term owners give wrong answers because they've not refereed to the 'good book' - even me I think yikes
Good news, i have ordered the book.

heck it covers your model year

does this mean you’ll have two copies, one for home and one to keep in the glovebox?

I used mine only 30 minutes ago to help find a fault on someone else's Spridget, information was at my fingertips, no worry about radio reception or someone else draining my battery

for those that don’t know what the Driver’s Handbook covers see below the contents page of my Driver’s Handbook for Mk3 Midget (with GAN-4 supplement)

The books 1979 and mine is a 80. After having a look through i can see why you were telling me to get one! bow

of course he could have bought the Handbook months and months ago when he first advised to, now he's got it he appreciates it and will probably go on to wish he bought it before the car to have helped with the sale negotiations more
I do believe the book is going to help me but i dont wish anything different about the deal. With regards to buying the book months ago.. I was quite happy with my mx5 until i drove and saw the B last week.. I knew i had to have her!
