From the classics forum, the little coupe second from the left.

Could somebody with good computer skills blow it up a bit or hone in on it a bit. It's got us all stumped over there. confused

It's very Panhard, Simca esque but can't put my finger on it....do you know what year the photo was taken? I assume 50's?
Panhard was the first thing I thought, but image search came up with nothing like the front of it. I'd imagine it's late fifties or very early '60s.

I think it's a Simca Aronde Coupe De Ville:
http://www.curbsideclassic.com/wp-content/uploads/...
With the following problems from crash damage:
Rear bumper slightly misaligned (not dragging on ground was just bright spot mixed with rear exhaust hanging down) and rear end creased.
Front bumper near to us pushed right up and headlight popped out resting on it.
Grille damaged.
Bonnet slightly popped up away from us and still attached near to us.
Better photo from French forum where they also weren't sure what it was but guessed a Simca or Panhard:
http://images.forum-auto.com/mesimages/153698/img1...
Thought that earlier too, but the rear roof line is so different.

Is it definately 1950's?

I was thinking Matra Djet (I've got to get some points for the most obscure French car maker) but thats the 1960's.

Well it has to be between 1955 and I'd imagine before 1963.

If that's any help? hehe

I was thinking it might be a UMAP 425 or 500, little Citroen based Coupes - they had the squared off rear arches. But I don't think they had quarterlights on the front windows.
Good call on the front, but can't find a picture of one with that roofline.

I found a website called http://www.racingsportscars.com/make/Panhard.html?...
which ahs many Panhards listed but sadly very few pictures.
I think we may be looking at a Panhard coupe possibly.
This could be the only picture of it.
Don't think that's it either. frown

So there is some hope this one will be solved then...?

I've followed this thread and each of my thoughts has proven wrong. That bonnet scoop makes me think front engine, so since I'm at the Hotel de France next week I shall take the ruddy picture and see if someone can identify it!
That would be great! smile

Please stop it. You are very welcome to start a new thread for your unidentified Lotus cars, but please stop bumping this one. There are a large number of people who hate it when it resurfaces without any further clues.
+1

This thread has already given me sleepless nights.
Yes, my eyes light up when I see this one bumped.

Although this one burnt my retinas and I woke up each morning with the picture in my mind: hehe
