Looks to me like it could be off a trailer or something like that.

ahhh... could be, yeah. Thanks.

What made me assume a car was that there was a rear view mirror in the shed too. I was also thinking something British Leylandy as it was an old bloke who had the house before us. He also ran a newer Rover. Stereotyping I know...

Apart from the colour, looks a lot like the hand brake from the Morris 1100 my Mum had in the 70s ( no, I don't know why I remember that either).

Is it a fly-off handbrake? The mechanism looks similar to that on my TR4 which is of the fly-off/confuse MOT testers type. If it is then it certainly narrows down which car it could be off.

...It's not from a Morris 1100. Could be from any 60s/70s stuff. Value? About £2.50.
