Engineer needed to inspect a written off vehicle
Discussion
Hi all
I'm looking for some advice/help if possible.
My father's car was crashed back in August after 38 years of ownership. The insurer has considered the car to be a Category B write off despite the inspecting engineer originally agreeing it would be Cat C.
I've been advised that the insurer having looked again at the report is unwilling to change the category due to the chassis damage (they seem oblivious to the fact that the car would have a brand new chassis fitted as part of the repair - It' a separate chassis Triumph). But have advised they would take a look at a further report, should I wish to appoint an engineer to assess it and submit to them.
I'm going to question the above by explaining chassis' are available new, however putting that to one side. Can anyone recommend a qualified assessor to produce a report who understands how separate chassis cars are assembled?
Thanks
