Allegro Equipe

Currently reading the latest issue of Classic Cars & noticed an article regarding an Equipe that was up for auction on 26 November.
Apparently it was subject to a £10k rebuild a couple of years ago.
It sold for just £3.6k even though the Allegro International Club have values the car at £12k!!!!
So either someone had a bargain or someone massively over-valued the car.
As an ex Equipe owner I am astounded that someone would lavish £10k on an Allegro.

I bought mine new direct from the factory. It was crap however as I worked for BL dealer I got a good discount & my boss preferred us to drive BL products to 'fly the flag'!
Only good thing about it, apart the day I sold it, was the Starsky & Hutch stripe!!!
As for the blue Equipe it must have been repainted as I believe all Equipes, which were only built to special order, left the factory painted silver.
No doubt someone might know different however I am 99% certain they were silver only.
