How was Drive It Day?

Initial notion was to go to Fyvie Castle (NE Scotland)for a walk around and lunch. However the weather intervened and despite attempts to head for better weather we had to stop and put up the hood on the XK 120, which is tricky at the best of times and awful in driving hail! Then we went to a local and very alternative café where we discovered that they had a few classics due in the afternoon, so decided to go home and return later.
Sky meantime getting darker, but decided to go anyway, wrapped up well in best boilersuit, scarf, gloves etc. The first time I've driven the XK in blizzard conditions, so drove very carefully - not that there was much option as the wipers didn't cope, but at least the lack of sidescreens meant I could reach round and sweep off lumps of snow! However home safe and woodstove on. All in all a grand day out but a bit more exciting than planned!
