I have to store a car in the UK for 16 months and I live overseas (non-UK resident now). I am storing the car at a professional car storage facility.
(Stupid question?). Even if they have their insurance, should I get my own insurance on the car, on an agreed value laid up policy? The car will be on a SORN during this time.
I am (not surprisingly) having a hard time finding anyone to quote me. So far only Hagerty have at 225 pounds for 12 months.
Anyone with similar experience or recommendations?

Thank you

Thanks for the input. Another company quoted the same price, and another is asking for more details on the storage company's insurance because they want to make sure the car isn't covered twice or something like that. I am asking the company about their insurance so hope to get this resolved shortly.

Thanks

So, a quick update. The storage company has TPF&T coverage on the vehicles in storage, not accidental damage. Contacting various classic car insurance companies they will not insure for the same cover as the storage company. I asked for just accidental damage coverage and they don't do that.
Hmm. Not sure how to go about this now........
