Classics left to die/rotting pics
Discussion
So ive been living in a certain part of Guildford for around 9 years now and when i moved to this part every night while walking the dog i see one of these (slant nose)
Its left on the owners drive and has very badly faded paint and not moved in the time ive seen it there. will get pics if its ever daylight again when im not at work. So lets see pics of classic left to die/rotting. 9anyone know how much a slant nose is worth anyway?)
sorry if you think im sadistic! i find it hard sometimes to see lovely cars left to the elements!

Is it a genuine Porsche or a Covin kit car replica?: http://www.madabout-kitcars.com/kitcar/kitcar_deta...
If it's the former then that's a shame.
If it's the latter then it's not so much of a big deal as it's just a rip off of someone elses design pretending to be something it's not.

Yes, cld be a replica or a 911 that someone has put a slant nose on to.
A friend had a slant nose 911 targa in for some welding work some yrs ago, which i did some work on. Rotten as a pear !!
Dont think they are partic sought after,? as it ruined the Classic 911 look, unless its a Factory Turbo ?

Reminds me of the story in the magazine supercar classics some years ago about the exotica left in a field in France to rot away. I don't recall all the cars mentioned but one was a Ferrari 250 previously owned by Prince Ranier. The owner liked to watch the cars slowly crumble to rust. Sick as that is to most of us, if thats what the owner wants, who can argue?

The guy who owns it is hardly ever at the property it is parked (dumped) at. Wonder if he'd let me have it for a song?
It's worth a try, I just got one of my Quattro's in exactly that way. Trouble is, once you've shown an interest I think the price goes up over what you might have potentially got it for once they're desperate to sell. But by that stage the car might have gone too far to save or the local scrappy might get there first. In my case the guy had already let an MR2 go to the breaker, and I could see the Quattro going the same way.In many ways this is quite a good way to get old cars though – they've not been tarted up or otherwise fiddled with, been through loads of owners, they've not been on salty roads etc. You just have to catch them before the rust takes hold.

Poor things been sitting there for years, as far as I can make out. The guy who owns it is hardly ever at the property it is parked (dumped) at. Wonder if he'd let me have it for a song?

if you see it again, could you pop a note under the windscreen
Fancy it do you? So do I
The car was spotted in central London, I'm in Derby.
I can ask my brother to put a note on it though, if you want to make contact?
It's just my sort of thing & having satisfied my craving for early a Corniche coupe, the only Shadow / T I'd like more would be the yellow delivery van version complete with Trotters Trading livery!
Reminds me of a TVR Vixen that had been left in the front garden of a house at Burnham On Crouch. No pictures unfortunately but it looked in a fairly advanced stage of decay but savable. Knocked at the front door and an elderly fellow advised that it was his Sons car and no way would the Son be selling, adding the bloody things a nuisance stuck there! Probably still roting away 15 years later, waste.
Just remembered about this Allegro I used to pass on the bus to school many years ago. At first it looked fine, then a bit rusty, then it started to collapse and now it looks like this.

Not quite in the same league as the others on here but the only one I can think of.
ETA: Just remembered this place. Not sure if they're rotting or being broken for parts as the cars there do change every so often but the ones at the back always seem to be the same. The 944 around the corner has been there for ages now.

I know a house that has two under covers just rotting away, one 3000M by the look of the outline, not seen the other one, but have been told by people in the pub opposite that it's under cover on the other side of the garden. Thought better of asking about them when I found out the owner's husband killed himself in one of them by gassing himself years ago, so the cars are just left under canvases in the garden.
