Ian Beech - sad news
Discussion
Dear All,
Ian Beech, the gentle giant, acclaimed by all as a ‘nice bloke’, a frequent contributor to PistonHeads and co-founder of PH East Anglia, tragically took his own life on 7 February.
He leaves behind a wife and two children and will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure to enjoy his easy-going company.
PHers are welcome to attend the funeral; I'll circulate information on this in due course.
RIP Ian, from your chums at PH.

Wow. It says something of the man that I'm still dealing with personal e-mails.
I will see that every comment is passed to Ian's widow at the due time.
There's just been an interesting programme about the universe on TV and I couldn't concentrate on two sentences, such is the cumulative power of PH.
So many comments say 'I didn't know Ian but...'
When my time comes, if I get a tenth of the response I'll feel I did something useful.
There is a big hole in PH, not to mention PHEA, and it will never be the same again.
I last spoke to him on Sunday and he was his usual cheerful self. He sent me a DVD on Monday. On Tuesday he was gone.
We will be there to pay our respects.

Simpo/Ted, is there any way we can start a collection to give a little help at this most terrible time? Else if theres anything else we can do as a collective group please let us know!
Hi Zippee, yes, there are plans afoot for a major PH attendance and collection. I'd ask everyone to be patient for a moment and watch this space. Thanks all.
