I’ve been a member of these hallowed pages now for some time and am are always impressed by its members.

I’m calling on you for help.

On another thread, I recently explained how an intended quite drink with some old friends, had turned into me been a drunken idiot and managing to spend an awful amount of money in a dodgy club I had never intended in visiting. A combination of tiredness, lack of food and too much drink mean that I have barely have any recollection of the night, and the 2 hours spent in my office toilets sleeping/been sick from 5am, as I managed to lose my friend whose house I was staying in as well, has turned out to be one of the worse nights in my life, and I am never going to enter ones of these places ever again. Sober, I wouldn't have even thought of doing this, and I feel I was massively taken advantage of, I was in no state to be making any decisions.

I now have a substantial credit card bill, at just under 2.5K.

I am now screwed.

I haven't read this all yet, but you just know that this thread is going to end up in the national press.
You thought out of everyone, I could count on you smile

That has crossed my mind, which is why I am now feeling like I may have landed myself in even more crap.

So I'm guessing a trip to the clinic should also be on the agenda then.... nice. What a lovely husband you are.
There is no way I did that, I just think I was stung. This was a club owned by a certain stringfellow character, so I'm not even sure it that sort of stuff would go on?

After thread number 1 I think the genius move in keeping it under wraps was to post a completely new begging thread. That was bound to sweep it under the carpet.
Tony, I think you're a mod, can you just delete this entire post for me, as I have enough worry on my mind, and this is now more I don't need.

Thanks everyone was the kind comments, and the very kind offers of help on this, god know what I was thinking yesterday. I pretty much agree with all the other comments also calling me a useless F*ck.

your mates might have put stuff on your tab? Get them to help out.
That's not a bad idea, rather than asking a bunch of strangers on the internet to help you out it might be better to ask your mates for a help out.
Other than the guy I was out with, which I didn't see for that much after a while in the club, I don't want any of my "real" mates to ever find out about this. I am no way proud of what I have done, and although some of you, rather amusingly think I am some sort of legend for doing this, I don't feel that in any way, divide the amount I spent by 5 and I could probably laugh this off, I have never done anything this stupid in my life.

Haven't got time to read all of this thread right now. Post a copy of the bill so we know you're genuine. If you are, I'll send you a fiver.

Christ, I know there are more worthwhile causes, but my conscience is clear as I already donate; and frankly you've done me £5 worth of service for a) making me laugh so much and b) replacing me as the stupidest person on PH.

I want to know how you got to £2,500 - I have a little knowledge of these places from, er, corporate entertaining, and so can cast an eye over the invoice in order to check you're not scamming. No invoice, no donation, I'm afraid.

I read a couple of pages of people taking the moral high ground. Justified, but so very unseasonal.
Do you really think I would make myself look this much of a dick for a scam!

Loan it is then.

Where else could you have had so much fun at laughing at someone else for a £1 though, so far I think I would have made £3, which "every little helps", but I would still be F*cked!

But.... what are you going to tell your wife? You know, that one who deosn't strip, the mother of your children?
Might I be so bold as to suggest. Nothing. Nothing at all. Keep stum. Quiet. Don't let on. Shhhhh. Keep it zipped. For god sake, you'll forget about it all in a week......UNLESS you tell her, in which case it will still be coming up in rows 30 years from now.
That is why I don't want to tell her, I am pretty much sure we will get through this if I did tell her, and although some people think I am the scum of the earth, I am normally a devoted father and husband. I have never have done anything like this before, and will never never do this again. I don't see the point in hurting her for this, as she will think that I need to find others for my kicks, which is so far from the truth.

This is the low-down.

2 x £750 "heavenly dances" - basically 2 girls for an hour each. . . .
1 x £500 cash withdrawal. . . . .
£500 ish on various drinks bills and more. . . . .
3 more reasonable priced dances at £20 each
I'm surprised that your card wasn't stopped for "suspicious behaviour" though

That's what makes me think these weren't validated transactions, they were done on old style paperslips or similar and the OP probably has a chance of trying to prove that he didn't approve them. Trouble is he doesn't want to go this route as it would involve correspondence to his home address.
I entered my pin into a machine, I think I have little comeback here, I didn't noticed the amounts though, which is the problem, if I had been sober enough to have noticed what I was buying, I would never had done this. I'm actually wondering if they showed me the amounts, or just asked me to enter my pin number....

How were you sober enough to enter your pin number, yet not able to realise you were being turned over and the evening unlikely to end well?....Most of us have that beer compass to get us home in such situations.

If I ever sort this out this mess I will jazz the post up just for you with a debonair attitude smile

I should maybe start a new post, "help, I got wred and screwed a lot of money up the wall, help bail me out", will that hit the 2.5K mark? If I was single with no family, and did this, I could probably laugh it off, its not so much the money I care about, its the hurt that it could cause, as have someone has said, I would rather than spend this money on my family rather than some con artists.

It would seem that other than appearing on youtube impersonating a monkey while holding some comedy objects, its not really worth it smile

Although there are been some kind guys offering to help, maybe I should just bite the bullet and lower myself to an all time lower level, and set it up and see what happens! Surely the amount of abuse I have taken and laughs I have given to you guys is worth it smile

Christ, if we all paid £1 for someone making us laugh like this - Harry and Mungo would be multi millionaires!!
Maybe we could all get together and create a book, and split the proceeds smile

scratchchin

So you've done this before eh? So there's a pattern of behaviour here. Obviously you told your mrs about that one, because £60 is ok - right?

So what did she say back then? If things were ok then they would be ok now - right?
I did go into one about 5 years ago for a mates stag do, and it still gets brought up today in arguments. As I said, its not me I give a sh1t about but her, surely sinking to the level of asking you guys, show I'm pretty much desperate to do anything to keep this from her. This would involve public displays of self deprivation, If she wouldn't find out....!

I looked at that, but you can only pay "real" charities.

It was the sort of thing I was after though, so the people who had been good enough to help me, could see and feel part of me saving my life smile Plus, in my wildest dreams of hitting the total required, I wanted people to see I was not actually benefitting from this, by getting more than was required.

You appear to be mistaken.

You can use it for any sort of fund raising.

This seems idea Aerofoil.

Do it.

Ironically, I see that credit card is the most efficient payment method.

The circle is complete.
All options I see seem to involve charities.

You guys that are considering helping me, you are indeed great! smile

Just giving is a no no, unfortunately. I will have to setup a PayPal account tonight. Don't have enough details on me at work to do this, and I can't really phone the wife and ask her! smile
