Just wanted to know whether anyone feels the same after the recent debacle.

We have been on France for 14 years but always felt we would go back to the UK after the children grew up.
It would seem that the UK is now not the place we left and certainly not the place to go back to. :-(

Has anyone thought about a French Passport?

Terry
European (not British)

Hold on chaps!

I was proud to be British until last Friday! We hadn't gone for citizenship as we thought we would be returning.
But NOW that has changed!

Question again, how easy is it to get a French Passport?

Luckily Russ , not many Brexiteers here. We feel very sad about the whole situation and have only just got over the physically sick feeling.
I cannot quite understand why the people most effected in a negative way in a Leave win voted to leave!

The lunatics have taken over the asylum :-(

All the best

Terry

I am with you Russ 100% on everything but we have lived here a while and know the French.
I am at a loss as to why the UK feel they have any bargaining power whatsoever.
You can picture the meeting .......
Ok we can sell you insurance
No you can 't as all your financial services have moved to Dublin and Frankfurt
We can sell you a Nissan
No you can't as they have just pulled out
We can sell you Cox's apples
Keep them we have golden delicious
And so it would go on

Have these people no idea? The UK Needs the EU more than the EU needs the UK
And any loss to the EU will be made up by the free trade deal they are about to sign with Australia.
Fu*king idiots

That's not how trade deals work.

They say:
We want to sell you BMWs VWs Skodas SEATS Audis Mercedes Fiats Ferraris Citroens Peugeots Renaults Airbuses and Golden Delicious and we'd really like it if you didn't charge us import tariffs.

We say:
We might be able to come to an arrangement.
I was demonstrating that we have nothing that the EU wants, we will see what happens this week! Stand by to stand by!

And I was demonstrating to you that we have customers that they definitely want.
Yes that right and the UK will have to pay to get it!

Haven't you got it yet?

Well , after the days after the result , here is my prediction for the future .......

Article 50 button will never be pressed, parliament will procrastinate over what deal to go to the EU with for months , possibly years until the next general election and a party will come to power having "stay in Europe" as part of their manifesto. In the meantime businesses go under , leave the UK , the economy goes into a massive recession. We become the laughing stock of Europe and the World having voted to come out, spent billions on think tanks etc , lose all the business and end up staying in anyway.

The people I know who voted leave now regret it , so perhaps not!

Also if Nick Clegg comes in and saves the day and we all vote Liberal :-)
He did foresee all this ...the day before! https://inews.co.uk/opinion/comment/will-wake-vote...

To the leave idiots. Forget what is being reported, this is the Treasury Commitee meeting on the 5th July with members of the Government asking the experts what to do next!
I dare you to watch it :-

http://parliamentlive.tv/event/index/cb083c53-3998...

I know its 2.5hours long but it demostrates that the Government have not got a scooby doo and that the "Experts" have their head in their hands with amazement at the how stupid the leave voters are.

Terryg4 - it is you who is coming across as an idiot. I am not saying which way I voted (that is my decision) but I am absolutely certain that clever people and idiots voted both ways. Stop generalising.

Now, there are plenty of threads on PH where you can moan about the Breit vote - please go there and leave us to discuss France.
We were until you trolls turned up!

Basically I started the post and was having a chat to fellow French residents about the situation , most of whom I know personally, all of a sudden there was loads of anti EU posts which you can imagine for us Europeans living in France is red rag to a bull.
Perhaps you should try starting your own thread?

I'm not that convinced they will be making any more money. Looks like austerity for the next 10 years to me.

PS...I'll give the EU ten years until it implodes.
What exactly in Europe will implode? We are Europe?

And looks like the reverse domino effect is coming into play ........ Or is it that the EU countries have had a look at what's happening in the UK and thought .....NO FU*KING WAY!

IFOP survey: Support for EU up post-#Brexit vote:

89% Poland
81% Germany +18
81% Spain + 9
75% Belgium + 11
67% France + 19
59% Italy +4

Russ
You mentioning quota , I think that's the next thing that people will realise. Having sat through 5 hours of treasury meetings apparently the EU have the agricultural quota for trading with the rest of the world ........ Not the UK
When the UK exits it's farmers also are f*cked!

Have a good weekend

Terry
Ps we've booked up to do the local rally on the 11th September in the Elan :-)
