Saab 9-5 BHP Output?

Currently looking for a large estate and Saab 9-5s have cropped up on my radar.

I'd be after a manual, petrol 2.3 but I'm not too clued up about the various power outputs.

I've seen this car, a 2.3T Turbo Edition, and Autotrader says it has 256bhp, but I'm not so sure. I thought only the Aero models had that sort of power.

Is there a definitive guide to 9-5s and the various power outputs they produce, or can anybody here shed some light on it?

Also, are there any particular things I should look out for with these Saabs when going to view them?

As I said before.....the last run out Aero's had 260bhp, not the 2.3T

There's just confusion over the nomenclature. If it's not badged areo it will have 220 bhp or less!

Ah, forgive my ignorance, it's just that I found this post on the Saab Scene forum, which kind of goes against what Wiki says...

I suppose without going to see the actual car, I'm not going to be sure. It's a shame the car is 170 odd miles away. It's not like I can just pop over to make sure One other problem is that my current car - a Mondeo TDCi estate - has only 130bhp (on a good day!), so I'm not 100% certain I'll be able to differentiate between 220/260bhp if I drive it. All I will know is that it will be much quicker than mine!

That's looks about right. I've done a bit more digging, and it seems that the Aero name was dropped for the 2009.5 model year, and was replaced with the 2.3T Edition. The car I'm interested in was registered in December 2009, so that makes a bit more sense

Just want to go and have a drive of the damn thing now! Unfortunately bank holiday, my kid's birthday, half term and work are getting in the way! That and the fact it's 170 miles away

ETA - Just looked at the advert you've linked and that looks identical to mine - same wheels, subwoofer in the right of boot, memory seat etc. Picked mine up in February privately for £5k although I've had to spend a bit since sorting a few issues

The car's been sold. Grrrrrr......normal life in the way! Apparently some chap is travelling from Dorset to pick it up. And I thought I was far away in Essex!

I want a family sized car as my daily and a change to a 4 or 5 year old 5 series would cost triple that of my Saab whilst offering little more. I saw me of the newer model 9-5's in the gym car park on Monday which look really nice. They have held their value remarkably when you consider the marque is redundant now.

There's a manual Turbo Edition on Autotrader at the moment that's got more miles on it that I'd have liked (113k), but it's less than £4k, so always the option of getting that and spending the difference on tuning

Still think I'd prefer one with fewer miles on it through...
