Got my car serviced a couple of weeks ago, but now the service indicator message has popped up on the SID. Considering that the indy I used has the manners and attitude of a psychotic killer (how do I find them?) - I am determined to just reset the service message myslef but can't remember how to do it. There's a guy on Eby selling the "secret", but I know I have seen it somewhere before.

Can the PH collective tell me how to do this please? Its a 1998 9-5 with the SID2.

Thanks
Bryan

Yep, that was the answer on my 9-5. Just happened that I had the car serviced 12 months ago and thought it about due so got it done. The service indicator popped on about 2 weeks later - more or less a year IIRC from the date it was last done - so I guess the computer counts miles and days and alerts you as to whichever is reached first. Fortuntaely this info helped me reset everything without another trip to the grumpy Saab mechanic. ( I have a choice of 2 independent Saab mechanics near me and they both have personality disorders/psychotic tendencies ).
