Exige V6 cost?
Discussion
Sorry for being a numpty (not having done my research but then it was all on a bit of a whim) but I am just checking the price I have been quoted by a dealer for a new V6S. He said that with a few extras...of which I will clarify tomorrow, it was £58K. The car was running on Corsa`s, and had the premium and sport pack, but do these add up to £58K?.....I thought it was nearer £55k?
I have an Evora S which is equally fantastic, but quite different. I think I have just about decided to plump for the Exige, but if being ripped off by a dealer, it will make a very difficult decision easy!

Thanks James,
The options are;
Motorsport paint (metallic green)
Premium pack sport
Race pack
Air con
on road taxes £840 or similar, so £58k is about right...ish.
Really liked the Exige but have just about decided not to go with it....bascially because the my Evora S is so good. What the Exige has over the Evora is a worthwhile amount of additonal accelleration (important), makes a fruitier noise (nice for blats, but a pain on a run), and because it is lighter has benefits on a track. Against that, the Evora is miles better on the road in terms of comfort, handling/ride balance), and this is where I spend most of my time with the car. I`ll probably do two or three trackdays a year, but will also do some long road trips with the missus, and I think the compromises are too many. I`d have both if I could justify it, but that`s silly. If I had not driven the Evora and got to know it so well, then I would have the Exige in a flash.

My mate has just bought a new M135i for less than £30k and when you look at what you get for your money and how it performs and can still be reasonably economical if driven sensibly, yes how can you justify £60k? What you are getting however is one of the best drivers cars in the world, for a lot less money than its rivals. I heard that Autocar matched the Exige agianst a new Boxster, and guess what, the Boxster got 5 stars and the Exige got 2 stars....but I read another report a few months ago where the Exige roadster was neck and neck agianst the Boxster S....the Exige trouncing the Boxster on dynamics, and the Boxster winning on the practicality game.
Basically you get is a phenominal performance car that is about as good as it gets....unless you want to spend £200k!...infact Evo had it neck and neck with some Zonga Panini thing that costs £250k! Everyone to their own I guess.

A BMW M135i is a more complete car than any Lotus or 911/Boxster for that matter and costs less than £30k so there is no sense in any of it really...except for when you drive the things...also bare in mind the purchase cost is only part of the story....Exiges do tend to have a loyal and strong following, so the depreciation tends to be quite low (and being second cars normally the mileage is low etc)....certainly less than a mainstream car, or a relatively common Porker....and the running/servicing costs are lot less than a Porsche, although my mate has got a 5 year service plan with his BMW...included...that is good value!
Had the car for about 15 months now...used daily since new. Had a couple of niggles but quickly sorted. Done 3 European trips total about 25000 miles. Fuel about 25-27mpg...can do more if you drive sensibly! Servicing 9000 miles at about £400/time...good indy cheaper and better. Insurance reasonable.
Not bad on a motorway but can get noise at higher speeds...in its element on A and B roads. Still thoroughly enjoys it's pure instant responsiveness...ooh yes and it is quite quick!
