Guys, can anyone tell me if there's more room in 2-11 interior compared to an Elise? I struggle to drive an Elise as my knee gets trapped between the gear lever and the steering wheel. From pics it looks like there might be a bit more room?

Cheers, the desire to own a Lotus is the only time I wish I was vertically challenged!!

Looks like I could mess around with the gearstick and the steering wheel size and get by.. possibly.. maybe.. Seems to be a few people bigger than me squeezing their way in.

Too big by the sounds of it. 6' 3" too. Better go try it for size. Atom appears to be the only car of this type I can actually fit but I'm not keen on them.

Unbelievably I fit in it fine size 12's included! There's more space than a current elise for me more arm and shoulder room and no real issue with the gearstick. My right hand is a bit close to my knee in relation to the steering wheel but I reckon a one inch spacer will solve that completely.

What an utterly stunning car can't believe how supple it is on the road too.

I've gone and bought it now too. Loved it and can't wait to get it home!

I think I may have seen you and your car refuelling at tangmere services just outside of goodwood a couple of years back. That car and a red one I see at goodwood were the two reasons I've been after one for ages

Never bothered to try one before as just assumed like the Elise there was no way I'd fit in it. I live 2 miles from the circuit so mine will be there as soon as possible !

One of the other reasons I can drive it is due to the Elise having some sort of cover over the steering column/dashboard which isn't there in the 2-11. With size 12's my feet hit this cover under braking which makes it almost undriveable.

Is the standard steering wheel 320mm? Thinking of going to a 280 or 300 to just give me a little more space again.

Cheers all! Can't wait to get it. It's definitely the best car I've ever driven and I've driven a lot of stuff over the years. I was gobsmacked by it on the road so I cant wait to see what it's like on a track.

Another question. Is it right that there's no service book with these and that were supposed to use a usb stick but the system Lotus used didn't work properly?

Re the brakes yes it is like hitting a brick wall. You can only feather them on the road otherwise it's far too savage. Will have to see if I have the bottle to use them fully on the track lol

That looks great Jodele. Do you have any plans for how to make these seat rails?

Collected the car today. Got to say I forgot what proper driving was, the car is just mental fun and intense at any speed. The sound of that high revving supercharged lump behind you is just awe inspiring. What a car! smile

Couple of pics. I sourced an eccentric spacer (Momo) for the car, works well at normal roads speed (raises the wheel) will see how it is on the track. Gives me a lot more room in normal driving but less with a lot of lock on. The Sparco wheel is 30mm smaller as well than the standard car, really good tactile wheel. Now to find a JPS badge for the centre! wink

Cheers Rob will do.

I'm normally at that sort of speed in my other cars and use the same technique after I had a off there clipping the apex a bit too enthusiastically a few years ago. I got lucky and went infield rather than out.. I don't take the apex so close these days... lol wink

Helmets.. Had a couple of higher speed blats in it recently and have noted that my current lid (Arai GP6S) is lifting up at speed from the chin which is a bit disconcerting. Have several track days booked first next week.

Has anyone else had a similar issue? Do I have to look at one with a duckbill or similar to get around this? I was looking at the Arai GP6 PED as I prefer Arai helmets normally but not sure it will work as well as something with a duckbill. Being tall my head sticks right up into the airstream and the little windscreen does next to nothing. Thoughts?

Yes, I saw that, I ordered one a couple of days ago. Fingers crossed.

Might look for a higher screen too. Going to change out the seats, what are you using? Want to go to a proper race seat with side head restraints.

Hi, did they come with the car or did you get them from Lotus motorsport? Can't seem to find any info on them.

Quick post back on this. Had first tame track day in the car, went very well and very happy with it. The PED device works brilliantly on my Arai GP6S. Huge difference and no problem at 130 mph. Worth the (frankly ridiculous) 80 quid for a bit of plastic moulding!!

Cheers! I went past you just after it happened and commented to my passenger it smelt like a HGF! Lovely car btw, fantastic colour. If it's any consolation I blew my other track car up a few weeks before at my last track day. 16 bent valves.. groan.

I fitted a 60mm spacer to the factory QR on my 2-11 and combined it with a 300mm Sparco. Made a huge difference.
