I'm finally joining the ranks of elise ownership tomorrow when I pick up an '02 standard S2. I was looking for a 111S but they kept getting snapped up so I thought I'd just jump in and get a Standard S2. There may be some power upgrades on the horizon but I just want to enjoy the car in the mean time and maybe do a few trackdays. But I can't resist tinkering in the garage so I need a few things to be getting on with!

Any recommendations for immediate sensible upgrages - brake pads? induction? exhaust? Eventually I'll be looking at putting 140-160 bhp into it so any induction / exhaust mods I do now i'd like to keep for that too - I don't want to replace everything twice!

I'd quite like a hardtop for the winter months and I like the look of them too - I see a few OEM ones come up from time to time but quite rarely - a quick google leads to quite a few aftermarket hard tops including exige lookalikes with the scoop as well as elise lookalike ones. Has anyone got any experience / recomendations on the aftermarket ones? I've got a mate who can paint so that's not an issue.

Biggest bang for the buck - especially for trackdays is probably a good Geo setup - any recommendations in essex for elise Geo? I've used skidmarques in shenfield before for an E46 M3 a few years back and they were pretty good.

Feel free to unload any other ideas on me. Can't wait to get the toy tomorrow!

Thanks guys. Will look at all that.
Yeah hardtop is for looks really in the winter. I appreciate it won't be warmer or dryer!

That hardtop website came up in my googling, are they any good? Has anyone experience of them?
