Shim Kit from Racing Green

Considering doing my own servicing but the one area i havent actually been before is the tappets.

Anyone been brave enough to buy shims / shim kits from RG and make their own tappet adjustments?

How did it go?

Did you need a valve spring compressor?

I understand how and why they are adjusted, the process seems straightforward, but im not 100% confident because i have never done the actual adjustment before. I have used fila gauges before too and i know how they should 'feel'

But, For example, do you use a dti on a mag stand to find the maximum lift point on the cam?

Do you lock the cam whilst measuring or is it stable enough to get the measurement without?
