Hello
Have had TVR V8’s for over 10 years now and always wanted a T350, bought one last Saturday. 03 plate 26K miles.
Its recently been to TVR Power where its had a major service (£1800) and other bits done, spoke with Dom and he said it was OK.
Engine was cold when I arrived and the usal bit of noise until warm, oil got to about 40 deg and it was as smooth as can be. Drove it nearly 200 miles home……… very enjoyable.
I am aware being a 2003 it might (probably will) at some time need an engine and I am prepared for this……… don’t by a speed 6 if you’re not. ( I have budgeted for this)
Drove it on Sunday everything fine, put it away Sunday night.
Started it last night after 3 days standing and it had a rattle, more like a fan catching noise and it was definitely related to engine speed…….. as soon as oil up to 40 deg or so all quiet.
Left her standing a couple of hours, oil dropped to 36 deg, restarted all quiet
Is this normal or is something a miss……….. do I need to think about investigating? I don’t want o be fixing something that isn’t broke? I'm going to monitor this and plant to leave her stood for a few days again to see if the noise come back
Now some people say warm them up before you set off, others say don’t leave them ticking over?
I intend to warm her up very gently, I know its not a V8, also I will be checking the oil all the time until I get confidence in the level.

Any thoughts from experienced owners?

PS if ever anyone sees a bible for sale (less than the £250 currently on ebay) can you let me know as I'm planning on keeping the car a long time so definitely want one.

Thanks m4tti that sounds like the most logical, G
Going to leave it a few days, lift the bonnet and start her up and try and identify the location and source of any noise.
Failing that I'm not far away from Willow (straight 6 now) and know Nick quite well, it may be nothing but better safe than sorry.
