Has anyone seen this?

It's great. I mean *really* good. The only app I've actually accepted its invitation to rate it in the store (5 star, of course).

The interface is a bit playschool coming from the old tomtom android app. But everything's so smooth. A nominal 50p in-app purchase brings across all your old subscriptions from the old app.

It just has lots of nice little touches:
- no graphics glitches on large-screen tablets
- really high frame rate
- traffic warnings are now spoken when they are received rather than the old app's "there is a new traffic delay on your route" announcement
- no more switching between viewing the map and navigating - you can just intuitively move around
- speed cameras and traffic is all rolled into the now much cheaper (£15 pa, or £35 for three years) subscription.
- 3d buildings (woo!)
- it can now run in the background to just use spoken announcements
- everything's just bigger and much easier to read

The only downsides are:
- still no custom poi capability, but the built-in camera database seems pretty good
- the colours are kind of garish
- no topography
- no map colour choices

I get the feeling tomtom are feeling the squeeze from google maps. This has a very strong "all or nothing / last gasp" feel to it.

You should give it a go (you can even have it running alongside the old app if you want to remain able to switch back).
