Hi,

I am looking to buy a TomTom GO 750 or TomTom XXL IQ but have seen several owners experiencing problems when updating the maps as the units do not have enough memory to hold the new maps.

Does anyone know if these issues have been resolved, or when TomTom will be bringing out new models with increased memory to address this issue?

Thanks
James

Well looking on the TomTom website it appears that the 750 has a MicroSD card slot, so I could buy a card to add extra memory, but unfortunately the XXL (which I would prefer) does not have an SD card slot.

Having done a bit more research, it appears that TomTom are about to launch a new range of devices. The first of which (Go 1000) includes 4MB of internal memory, so this should be adequte for the map updates.

Unfortunatly, I fear this will mean that a solution will not be forthcoming for owners of the existing units who are experiencing issues with the new maps.
