As we all know the '2 Second Rule' is an amazing teaching tool.

I need help with a simple project. How do I calculate the actual distance at different rates of speeds?

All I really need is the answers. So at 5, 10, 15, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60 & 70 mph, what is the actual following distance in meters?

Any help would be greatly appreciated smile

I am the OP and the reason I asked the original question was so that I could build a scale model.

Counting to two when your working with 2.5cm doesn't quite work.

The positive answers on this post have helped me, thank you.

The other posts, I just found humorous.

I want my miniature world to be safe.
Is that not okay?

The model is for educational purposes.

The model will clearly show the huge differences between 2 seconds at 20mph compared to 70mph.

I wanted accuracy in my model. Thus my original question.

I have already started my project. I will upload pictures when it's done.

Again thank you for your help smile
