Ok, so as far as I can see all of the mechanical part of the TVR Power turbo kit comes en lieu of the Y-piece which includes the main cat on Chims and Griffs. So in fact you're de-catting the car at the same time - or are there any provisions made for cars that need to have a catalyst installed - not just pass emissions, but the cat need to be physically present - to remain road legal?

I think it''s a case of replacing for the MOT, unless some small sport type cats can be used in place of silencer scratchchin Expensive though.
Why, are you thinking of going for it?
A customer of my main TVR man is, but if the whole thing needs to be put back to N/A with every MOT test... frankly I would vastly prefer major alterations of the mechanical layout of an existing car to be tested & certified for road autorities up front Tüv-style... if only to cover ones back for insurance and road traffic officers having a bad day.

Thought of the cat instead of center silencer idea... but by the sounds of it we'd be guinea pigs. Noise levels and whether the cat gets enough temperature in it to do its job when driving around in normal traffic would be big question marks. I can see such a project becoming an open ended sort of affair.

Ta muchly thumbup The exhaust fabricating company that my TVR whisperer works with, has said that they might be able to do something like that, too... so it looks a possibility even though it's not the route I would choose personally (it's a std. 4 litre, LHD so no off the shelf S/C solution either, but lots of scope for a bigger/better naturally aspirated lump).
