Yes here it is folks. The next installment in the LS / TVR LOONACY!

Plastiman has got hold of a modified C5R (how does he do this!)coolCorvette Lump (these are like an LS7 - but bottom end is Super strong and made my GM race Dept only. It has had some mods as it is from the LM Spec Listers! So now in only 6litre form! When in Listers breathing through Two 31mm restrictors it likely made ONLY 570bhp!lick

To get the engine down to 6L they shortened the strike to 3.41" . They then experimented with a larger bore and were presumably going to shorten the stroke further. At the time liners were not available to accomadate the 4.175" pistons and the liners warped due to being to thin.

The huge single butterfly per cylinder inlets are Kinsler (60mm) - Think a slight Bonnet bulge might be needed! Plate on the front supports the dry sump pump and this seems to have a different timing chain cover arrangement possibly for quick timing/cam changes. Dave may revert back to standard as the pump has to be mounted nearer the block to clear the chassis (pump on back of chassis in picture).

He is building it for the road yikes , probably my for his T350 (but maybe Tuscan - as chassis is the same?).

Dave is currently missing 1 head he is now ordering from the states. But he has two sets of pistons at 4.175 and 1 set of standard C5R pistons so he might build some big capacity short blocks!!

(I think I need a BLOWER)biglaugh

Hold on Jon - that's can't be right - that looks like a LS lump fitting quite nicely in a T350 chassis - which we believe is very similar to a Tuscan chassis, right? I'm SURE someone reckons that can't be done?!

Easy to do when there is no body on or the rest of the gubbins in place and there is no need for access to anything. It's sorting all that out is when the real fun starts...
Harder not difficult.

Anyway this is anout Plasti's creation - must admit it will tke a while to make it into a working car though - Good luck is all I can say.

Off to lay some more rubber. Jelly.

Plasti - looking at it some more I can see what you are on about with the adaptor plate. but doe look like it is in (well resting on something to get the general idea) in a bit to low for the headers relative to the top rails and not central). Think if central it and up and inch it will go back a few more inches, help with getting onto the steering box, etc. Body can be easily trimmed to get it right back - not as if it has to look std under there!

Cheers

Think the original thread pics were from a different project to the latest one? So whilst it has taken a while I dont think it is years but months. I would guess that the elapse relates to this not being a one-off, having to follow on the heels on the Cerb projects and ensuring that all the 'kit' and approach is simple, re-useable etc..? I do love the idea of an LS powered T350.
I would do my own except my wife would kill me if another car further delayed any spend on our house and I dont have the time or inclanation (or skills) to do much of it myself! Struggle to even drive my cerb some weeks let alone work on a car.
Yep I know that. Some of these proiject are laughable in how long they take though - Laughable - if you have watched American Hotrod you can see how fast thing can be done.

Bish bash bosh - done, buy the bits fit'em, get and exhaust built, map it. On to the next thing.

So maybe Plasti has all but stopped using PH, like some of the old hands that just dip in and out.

No point with alot of this unless you have something to UNFAIL wink

I have not moved forward on this project because my c5r block had been overbored and would now have to be fitted with wet liners (darton ?)It would be easier for me to get another block and when I see one at the right price this is probably what I will do. It will not go into the T350 as my wuife has forbidden me from messing around with that car incase I ruin it ( her favorite) . It will probably go into one of my other projects at some time in the future (which I have many) I am currently putting a hybrid LS7 and T56 into a cerb chassis and T400 body which has gone in remarkably easily with even the gear lever in the right position ! David
Good stuff David.

Weird now that people who are not scared of this type of stuff are finding it not as hard as people were thinking 5 years back!!!! Not saying it ain't difficult, just need to have a good level of common and a get on with it work ethic wink

I do miss my Chimvette some days - but he new Toy I am creating will be ALOT more Mental.

All the best

Any pictures Jelly ?
Don't want to reveal to much yet.

Sneek peak

Underneath alot of mods I want to keep a lin on for a good while at least.

I'll likely write it all up in my new part of my faster-tvr page. LS7+ Power in .95 of a tonne in something about the same size as a GT6 (but wider).

Chassis is coming along real nice.
