I want a small car to replace Mrs V's Corsa. I've checked a 1.6D at a local car supermarket for fitment of the Vikingettes in the rear and it's fine. Boot is OK for weekends away. Not driven one though. Has to be petrol as it will equally do 3 mile runs through town in traffic.

Would it make a comfortable Tourer? Or is the suspension as harsh as boogery? Is the NVH OK? I'm erring towards the T5 for Jeremy-Clarkson-POWWWWWEEEER with the bonus that (on paper) the T5 is lower emissions than the 2.4. Thoughts?

Thanks chaps.

I'm looking for a Geartronic T5 which seem to be rare but I'm happy to wait until the right car shows. Fuel consumption at 30.1mpg combined manufacturers figures is OK. I'm expecting low 20's.

The main use of the car will be school runs and gym squad. Most weekends we head towards the coast (90-120 mile round trip) to mess around. The boot is high but adequate for our needs. As an example we use our Mitsubishi i-Car or Corsa sometimes for trips to the coast and both are absolutely fine, comfortable and the boot is OK.

Hi there - take a look at this Volvo C30 T5 geartronic , only 27 k on the clock - www.fandjmotors.co.uk - it's a garage local to me...
Thanks Cupra R. I've already seen that one on Autotrader. The main problem is that the car is 372 miles from me (and Autotrader tend to give out mileages as the crow flies). I may dither yet.

There's a nice manual T5 4 miles from me: http://www.williamssalesltd.co.uk/used/volvo/c30/t... and probably over 372 miles from you! biggrin I've checked and driven this car and it is A1, good premium tyres and decent tread.

Thanks for the information chaps. Much appreciated. Unfortunately the car has to be an automatic for Mrs V. If I wanted a manual I would have bought one by now but Geartronics are rare.
