Looks like I'll be getting a XC60 D4 auto R-design as my next company car. I've had a brief drive but I'm getting one for 5 days at the beginning of April so will have a better idea then.

I've spec'ed met paint, tinted glass, and winter pack. Has anybody got a similar car? Just interested in people's opinions. I do approximately 25k moles a year so choosing the right car is quite important!

Thanks guys, I've pretty much 100% positive things from owners so will have to see how the extended test drive goes. I will report back.

The only thing I'm concerned about is the ride on the r-design I had a V60 r-design for 5 days and rejected that due to the very hard ride, so we shall see.

I'll be sticking with the 18's. The 20's are a £2400 option I think!

No desire to pay even more BiK every month for an extra 2 inches.

BiK

Diesel £192/month

(The only) petrol £468/month

If you want to pay me the difference I'll have the petrol.

Thought id better update this thread now I've finally placed an order.

I've gone for a XC60 D4 R-Design nav auto with winter pack, tinted windows, reversing camera, and sensus connect with the upgraded stereo, in metallic black. I will get it when my current company car goes back in August. Although I'm trying to negotiate a September delivery and extend my current car by a few weeks so I can have a new reg number, because I've apparently turned into a middle class, keeping up with the Jones type! (My bosses words!)

I had a very similar spec car on demo for 5 days and was very happy with the ride compared to the shocking V60 I also preferred the higher driving position for motorway work.

Currently planning a camping trip to France to run it in.

Their is now a possibility that I will be getting it the day before our annual 2 week camping trip to the Isle of Wight!

That will decrease the stress levels I'm sure.

I've had mine just over 6 months now. D4 r-design, the ride is quite hard, comparable to the Octavian vRS I had previously. The interior looks great but the quality just doesn't seem to be there, quite a few little squeaks and shudder through the body. The engine and 8 speed auto is a nice drive train but does sound quite coarse especially when cold. I'm getting bang on 40mpg driving it with no regard for fuel economy at all (fuel card) which I think is quite impressive. I like to keep my cars looking nice even though it's a company car and I know black is the worst colour but the paint is unbelievably soft, I am very careful when washing and it's almost impossible not to damage the paint when washing. God knows what it would look like if you let the hand car wash boys look after it.

Overall I just haven't clicked with it. It's probably just not my sort of car really but I'd go back to the skoda tomorrow.
