Hi guys,

Has anyone taken delivery of their T8 Hybrid yet? I have one(R Design)on order which is due to arrive in March. I've yet to drive the Hybrid and was wondering if anyone on here has had the pleasure/taken delivery?

I have also opted for the air suspension. I have driven the diesel on springs and was after some feedback on what difference, if any, air makes.

Comments welcome.

Thanks in advance

I have leased the T8 on the business (3 years), so depreciation is not a factor for me. With a P11D personal benefit of only £1,200 per annum the hybrid was a "no brainer" compared with a £12K P11D for a FFRR. The £5K is very welcome and as you say reduces to £2.5K after 31st March.

I've also ordered the home charger from Charge Master. At £195 with a Gov grant of £700 if ordered before 29th February.

Estimated delivery for us is mid March...fingers crossed.

Picked up the T8 and wow what a fantastic car. Managed to get to golf today (12 miles) on electric alone. The R design is wonderful. Got it in bursting blue and very pleased with the colour.

The technology is incredible and the Volvo on call app is brilliant.

Thoroughly recommended

I find putting it into "pure" mode for short journeys and trying to keep the needle in the electric section quite difficult. Must have heavy right foot!

Can anyone help with the sat nav screen? The arrow points in direction of travel but the screen is always north to the top. I'd like it to be in direction of travel too. Tried sat nav settings but can't find this option.

Managed to get the Pod Point installed before deadline and I find it fully charges in around 3 hours.

Overall highly impressed with it. Very comfortable, quiet and good looking.

Would like to hear what range you guys are getting on electric alone, especially as it's a bit colder at the moment.

Missus is looking at a future 40 mile rural commute (there and back) free charging point @ park and ride (for now).

I'd really like one of these.

I'm getting a range of about 20 miles on pure electric, although the dealer did say it would improve somewhat as it gets warmer, and the more its used fully and then charged
Agreed, I am at the same kind of range. I have noticed that the range is extending, even after only 5 days. I'd think your missus would get the 20 mile commute, then charge and back again on pretty much in all electric mode. It will depend on how much start stop she will do. I find the acceleration to get back up to speed again after a stop saps the charge. We have lots of roundabouts in MK which doesn't help! 5 days into ownership and getting more impressed with this car every day...

Hi,

Very nice looking R-Resign there, congratulations.

The MPG on the commute is very impressive. Our average consumption (according to Volvo on call app) is 28.1 mpg. I'm not sure if that only measures the use when in petrol mode? We have done 300 miles and used around 7 gallons of fuel, making it more like 43 mpg taking all journeys into account.

Where it is impressive is when the missus uses it on the school run. She takes our youngest to the school bus, return trip of 4 miles. This is all done in pure mode. Re-charge back at home. She picks her up again from school which is a round trip of 32 miles (mostly motorway at 70 mph). She puts it into pure mode. It lasts until the last 5 miles before pure expires and hybrid kicks in. By my maths that equates to using one fifth of a gallon at 28 mpg. 32 afternoon miles plus 4 morning miles with only 5 in petrol mode x 5 (only used 1/5 of a gallon) = 180 mpg!!thumbup

I didn't think anyone might be interested in pics. Mine's filthy and due a wash at the weekend, I'll post one then.

I've had mine since October and have tried to find out how to change the Sat Nav direction on the main 12" screen. But I've had no luck, not sure it can be done. Not a big deal as the Sat Nav also appears on the screen behind the steering wheel in the direction of travel so I always tend to look at that and have something else on the main screen.
Found out how! Go into the main 12 inch screen. On the left hand upper corner there are two round icons of a compass and 2D/3D. If you press the compass it will change the direction of travel and the 2D/3D one changes from well 2D to 3D!

What sort of lease deals can be had on these things?
A quick Google search will give you some options, but unfortunately they won't be as good now that the £5K Government grant has gone completely!

Lovely colour.

What's the air suspension like?
Thanks. I was pleased I chose the bursting blue as it looked so much more vibrant against a plain black R Design one that was being collected the same day.

Air suspension is excellent and rides much better that the spring suspension we test drove so glad we chose it.

I love the grey wing mirrors but also understand those that would like a "black " pack.

Thinking about A T8 can anybody tell what is the range of the Volvo on full tank after full charge , little concerned about range of car with only 50 ltr tank .

cheers
The range will depend on the journey distances.

The T8 comes into its own as a company car purchase (due to very low P11D) or a personal purchase for short distance commuting. E.g. a 60 mile commute with the ability to recharge at work would make perfect sense as you would use very little fuel. No road tax and no congestion charge in London either.

If you are doing lots of long distance driving I'd question why you would look at a T8 as the additional purchase cost would outweigh the fuel efficiency/electric mode benefits.

The fuel economy of the 2L petrol engine is not very good at all. I have a T6, which is the same petrol engine as in the T8, and get about 20mpg.
20mpg? You're doing quite well!! laugh

Apologies for the fingerprints! thumbup
Hmm mine isn't too bad on fuel:
