Finally got myself one last week, due to a combination of circumstances and time to change. I think I got lucky since then i've not seen other on the market this week (old car was traded in due to MOT due in 4 weeks's time so I was on a deadline).

The car was registered in 2011, 16,800 miles when I picked it up. 2 owners, 5 Volvo dealership stamps (last stamp was at 15k), then serviced again when I bought it so has 6 service in 5 years.

Spec

2.5L T5
Geartronic
R-Design
Heated seats
Driver's electric seats
Auto headlights
Auto dimming rear view mirror
Electric folding mirrors
Cruise Control

Missing Bluetooth and USB Connection so will get a Parrot kit, small compromise as there really isn't many of these about. Had to drive 340 miles return trip to pick it up. I've not even driven it hard yet, might do the Polestar upgrade later on but coming from a 1.8L Yaris this feels like a rocket ship !

Thanks! I've never considered a red car before, in fact I normally choose to avoid it but the T5 are so rare that I throw that rule out the window and I'm glad I did! The red with silver mirrors really do work.

Do you know how long the remap takes? Can this be done at all Volvo dealers?

A very good choice, basically the previous Focus ST in a posh frock combining the fine previous Focus underpinnings with Volvo's 5 pot turbo.

Provided that your car was built before 2010 then best not get turned over by a dealer selling you a lukewarm polestar map at a very high price. Arround that time Volvo introduced a pincode system as a form of toll on practically anything that needed to be done with any electrical connection.

That PINCODE BANDITRY effectively locks out all competition in many areas and is a blatant breach of EU legislation that should prevent manufacturers exploiting a dominant market position.

Take a look at www.t5d5.org and www.volvoforums.org.uk along with vpcuk: you will find a lot of stuff concerning other suppliers of software calibrations to achieve higher outputs safely and at sensible prices.

Don.
The car was registered in January 2011 unfortunately therefore it was probably built in late 2010.
