Thought you might be interested to hear about a new partworks from Eaglemoss publications, the guys who brought you the James Bond car and magazine collection.
They have a new collection out now - the Batmobile collection. The first issue is already on sale and that focuses on the 1989 Batmobile from Batman: The Movie(priced at a very reasonable £2.99). The magazine is, erm, short. In fact it's about ten pages but in fairness there's only so much you can write about one Batmobile.

Contents
Front cover..........1
Introduction.........2
Background to film...3
Design of Batmobile..4,9
Batmobile stuff......5-8
Batman in 1989.......10,11

The content is reasonably informative, though.

The model is not of the best quality - I picked up the best one the newsagent had and when I got home the body had come apart from the chassis and the Batman figurine had broken apart from its feet. The body just seemed to clip back, which was okay, and I sorted Batman out with a bit of Humbrol.
It is very realistic and detailed though. The model is nicely accompanied by some scenery and there is a cardy-sort of thing that goes behind the Batmobile and shows a 3D image of the Joker's chemical factory exploding.

Issue 2 features the 1966 Batmobile and issue 3 comes with the tank-like thing (the Tumbler?) that Christian Bale drove.

Subscribers receive a magazine binder, a BAT-1 number plate, a model of the 1989 Batmobile in armoured mode and a model of the Batwing.

Here's the website: http://www.eaglemoss.com/batmobiles/

I have since bought the second and third ones ('66 Batmobile and the Tumbler) and I think they're much better than the first one, but only in terms of the quality of the model.

The third one is already out? Sure thats early ...

I've got the first and second; the tumbler just does nothing for me. My sons absolutely love the first two. And the "magazines" that come with them are truly dire.

Saw a documentary on the batmobiles earlier - cracking viewing!
Sorry, I meant I was going to buy the third one. No, the Tumbler doesn't go anything for me really, either, but they're good models and I'm thinking of subscribing. It'll be interesting when they start doing the Batmobiles from the comics. I also notice it's called Batman Automobilia, so maybe they'll go on to do the villains cars as well.

I agree with you about the magazines, but £9.99 is good for the models alone.
