As I am now a Father and have to at least pretend to be responsible my time for playing with real cars is limited (as is budget).
But to get my fix I think I am going to turn to RC cars instead!

After some hard thinking I really want to get a Tamiya Lunchbox (I always wanted one of these as a kid when they first came out and they look like a lot of fun).

My intention is to buy it in Kit form (as putting it together is half the enjoyment), and maybe look at modding it in the future as a little bit of a hobby.

So I was hoping someone could advise me on what would be sensible in terms of buying the associated items to go with the Tamiya Kit?
I don’t want to buy really budget Radio gear or batteries if I am just going to want to upgrade in the future. But I have no idea what I should be looking for (or even what comes in the Tamiya kit).
Can anyone point me in the right direction? I don’t intend to go racing or anything like that so I don’t need the best of the best or anything, just something sensible that will last…

Thanks!!
