So I've had a love affair with 1/10 offroad since about 1994, always had a Losi kicking about in some form or other.

Had a break for about 5 years, but I'm now back with this:

The spec: Losi 22 2.0 mid motor setup, Absima CTS10 ESC, Speed passion 6.5 turn brushless, Turnigy 4850mah 2s saddles, brushless digital servo, Spektrum DX4S tx with SRS4210 DSMR AVC ABS rx. Running 18t pinion to get used to the power, it's rapid. Schumacher yellow minipins rear, yellow cut stagger on thin wheels front for carpet/wood surface.

Ran it last week at maritime, going to take a while to tame this beast! Running tomorrow at maritime again.

I also have a new Losi XXX CR, and a vintage original Losi XX CR Kinwald Edition which I am going to rebuild in the next few months. I have been hoarding new parts for it, everything is going to be graphite/titanium/anodised aluminium. Pics to follow.

So what have you got, what are you running/racing? Pics mandatory!

So - how're you getting on with the AVC (Active Vehicle Control)? It's fantastically clever, but in my particular deployment, it didn't like the very undulating ground, & at very high speed. Very eerie also to see 'something other than you' control the vehicle (inc throttle, if so set up).
I have only briefly played with AVC, it's banned on track so I've not seen the benefit with lap times. On a lower grip surface, it definitely worked - as does the ABS. I need more time to see if I like it or not, cars these days are so fast some tech to help out for those with less skill is always good as long as you can switch it off!

Nice bit of kit there chap. I've never done off road but always fancied a go.

Your going to a club with a very good rep you should get a lot of help from lads that race there.
Thanks, yes the guys at Maritime are all very helpful, they were giving me tyres and setting the car up when I got there, nice bunch and helped loads!

Seeing this thread makes me want to go and find out what happened to my Team Associated RC10 B3, hopefully my parents haven't chucked it away and it's in a box somewhere.

I spent quite a lot on it back in the day but it's most likely archaic and out dated now, (had an 11T motor which was quick for the day, battery lasted about 5 minutes) looking on hobbyking I'm amazed by how much the price of rc stuff has dropped.

Went through Crystal Palace last month and they were racing 1/8th scale nitrous on the racetrack, the noise they make is so loud. Gonna get a Mazda rx-8 shell and paint it the same colour as my car so I have a scale model.
Mate, you should go dig it out. I saw my old Losi XX in the shed, rusting and feeling a bit sorry for itself. But I thought it's good to rebuild it to top spec as more of a shelf queen for old times sake, and race a new kit. You can get a new kit for like £200 or so, and trying to find vintage parts is hard (and expensive) enough to put anyone off racing one especially offroad.

I've gone a bit over the top on the rebuild, but it was my first proper RC and I'd like to keep it in good health looking good! It's a good project also. If only I could afford to build it to this spec when I was 16!
