just got this a pressie for my birthday!

Very nice quality and good value too. Sadly I had hoped to use my existing lipos, but they don't fit, so looks like new ones are needed!

Very nice. So how quick will tat go on the water?
Should be in the 45-55 Mph range depending on the battery spec.

As mentioned I have ordered some new paired sets, but lest wait to see what they perform like.

Biggest issue has been trying to find some 3s 5000 mah, times two that makes a 6 s pack, that have EC5 connectors on them to handle the up to 120 amps draw!

I could, have made up some converters from my existing 5000 packs with Ec3 connectors, but I am concerned with the cure t on the ec3 connector.

I suspect the biggest issue will be somewhere big enough to really allow it to peak out, without it being too choppy, as I don't think that a 29 inch catamaran will like water with any chop on it!

Nice boat. I've got a proboat mystic 29. I run it on 4s and a different prop. I've never managed to tune it properly, the nose is always bouncing along. I've tried shifting the weight about but nothing?! Any tips?
Not had chance to get mine on the water as yet james, waiting on delivery of the new batteries plus a few other bits to finch her off.

As far as trimming is concerned a lot of it is down to the angle of the prop mount on the rear out drive.

People assume that by moving the batteries fore and aft you will change the c of g, ( which you do of course ) but it does not always stop the porpoise effect.

This is due to the thrust angle of the prop, Wuxi can be adjusted. I a told there is not quite enough adjustment on our boats, but this can be changed by enlarging the hole.

Also you can blueprint the hull, but this seems pretty extreme to me.

There are lots of hints and tips here:-

looks like it would be fun to race against my miss llumar as it looks a similar scale to my smaller 1/12 scale, although mines been modified so the rear wing is servo controlled to give it a bit more adjustment on the water.
i don't have any decent photos of it to give it scale but here's a few i grabbed off the net:

That looks ace!

What engine combo is in that?

Must finish it ...
Looks. Like nice, which Hull is that?

Also when it comes to twin motor set ups, how do you get them to both run at the same speed, to give equilateral thrust?

Never mind the boat , when are you going to finish the Caterham model build ??? I was enjoying that .
Thanks for the reminder!

Sadly it still part finished in its box!

Not had the time to get it back out, full size Caterham outings, like this weeks rally in Northern France have taken a priority for now!

I am sure I will get around to finishing it soon though!

I've just purchased a Blackjack 29, been tempted to get another boat for a while now and this one is very cheap at the moment so had to get it!!

What lipos do you intend running in yours?
I have got two set now, the mega expensive Dynamite ones, and some slightly less powerful and half the price 3s packs from Gliders UK.

Wont get chance to do the maiden voyage until next week now though!!

Glad you got yours at a good price too!!

Just a quick re visit on this, we have only been out with ours a handful of times, and then only to the local boating lake in Redditch.

And yes I know it’s been 4 years, I bet it’s only been out 8 times in total, Pretty poor show i realise.

Any way, went again recently, and because they have re stocked that lake for fishing model boats of any kind are no longer allowed.

So my question it, where do we go to run it now?

I’ve tried Kingsbury water park, they have there one model boat lake, but it’s memebrs only, tried calling and email and can’t get through.

Same situation with Bornville model boat club too, seems they prefer sailing yachts now too.

So any suggestions? Do we need to form a club and find a lake?

I'm going to rewire my boat so the batteries run in parallel. There are quite a few advantages to this. I'm thinking about getting some 4s 3700mah lipos from Hobbyking. They are very cheap and being connected in parallel will give them an easier life as well as minimizing ESC killing ripple.

Btw, how well does your canopy fit? Mine fits well at the front and back but sits proud down the sides. Think it might have been moulded wrong.
Just revisited this, sorry I missed your question.

I think mine fits pretty well, I do use marine tape across the gap, but mine still gets wet inside.

I’m still on the lookout for a decent venue to run my boats.

Looks like arrow valley now have a club meet there!

Well after getting in touch with the guys from Worcestershire Model boat club, and them confirming that they do indeed sail at my local lake, I have now joined up.

They have 4 sailing venues around Worcestershire so hopefully when I can get out properly again, I will be giving the Blackjack 29 some proper hammering!
