RC Car/Truck for 6 year old,....
Discussion
My youngest lad wants one for his upcoming birthday,. anyone have any suggestions? - it's got to be tough whatever it is (lets just say he is not the most delicate of kids ) Dont't mind what brand it is, as long as it can bomb around the garden at a reasonable pace and take some stick.
He loves the look of Tamiya's Lunchbox, but I feel something of that level is a few years off yet. My old Tamiya Sandscorchers and Hilux are staying hidden in the loft for a long while yet!!

When is said birthday?
Tamiya recently announced a new model for beginners - exactly what you are after. Deliveries not expected til the summer, but initial description and pictures look promising. Anything that gets young people into the hobby is a good thing.
This new model doesn't have a name yet - but it has the appearance of a buggy with a 380 motor (like the old Grasshopper).
