What 1/10 2wd buggy (Racing)

We have just started going to our local buggy club reviving a hobby I used to be involved in about 20 years ago.
Back then I was racing a Schumacher cougar 2 works that had come to replace a mardave meteor, needless to say these machines have moved on an awful lot which showed up when Sarah bought me a thunder tiger Phoenix as a basher a few years back for my birthday and the difference in handling from the buggies I used to race to this rehash of an rc10 b3 stood out.
We can take part with what we've got which is good because the season is ending in 2 weeks but that then leaves me the summer to build a proper car up, most people at the club were racing b5s, yokomos, couple of schumachers and I think a Losi 22.
Surface is a sports hall so polished wood with carpet sections.
I'm drawn towards the Schumacher sv2 pro as its a cheap kit (150 quid) and looks pretty good, but it also appears to be fairly old, I don't really want something that's going to be obsolete in a year, there is a lightweight b5 which I quite fancy but I hate these forward mounted cabs which have come in to fashion.
What are people's thoughts I suspect there are some racers on here!
