Good morning Lego fanatics…

Ooh! What's this?
As per the Technic Lego thread, I am looking to put together a group buy for the forthcoming 42055 Wheel Bucket Excavator & 42056 Technic Porsche 911 GT3 with our favourite reselling partner. smile

Photos shamelessly stolen from the internet!

Please note that full details on the 911 set have not been confirmed yet, so the set may change or could potentially be dropped from the range. Hopefully they wont, as I really want one! hehe

How much will they be?
We're hoping to offer the usual discount of around 15-20% off the RRP, but at this stage the level of discount is not confirmed as the costs prices have not even been released to sellers yet.

The Retail price of the sets are expected to be £250 for the 911 and £180 for the Excavator

What's in it for me?
Nothing. I'm getting the same deal as you. A friendly fellow happens to own a shop that sells Technic Lego and you are buying from him.

Do I have to commit now?
NO! At this point we're just looking for interested parties to come forward so we know how many to put aside! The only point you actually commit is when you buy from the website.

When does it happen?
Launch date is expected to be the beginning of August.

Other sets
There are several large Technic sets being released in August. We will judge interest in these sets nearer the time and put some packages together if we see fit.

Am I eligible?
Usual Group Buy terms apply. This is a group buy for PHers, and therefore you must have been a member for at least 6 months to qualify.

I'm interested!
If you are seriously interested in buying either set, then please add your name to the thread. Whilst there is no commitment to buy, we are trying to gauge the popularity of the set. At £180 & £250 these are not cheap sets, so if you can’t afford it or you’re not sure, please do not add your name for now. Thanks.

(Strictly speaking, isn't this the 911 GT3 RS?!)
It is, but then do you want to upset the person organizing the group buy? hehe

Any chance of adding the Claas tractor too?
It would be something we'd look to offer as a bundle option. smile

I'll discuss with Russy.

Cool with the table smile

If you want to add the other models to the table, that's fine by me. I will discuss with Russy whether they are an option. smile

The plan would be to concentrate on the bigger models, and perhaps offer a bundle deal.

irked

The admin overhead for these group buys are big enough already.

Play nicely, or you'll all be excluded.

Any idea on prices for these sets yet?

Might be an idea to put the price in the heading in the table so people know
RRP for the Porsche is £250, the excavator RRP is £180.

I'll dig out the others - Russy commented.

As per the original post, we are looking for interest in these sets based on the fact Russy can normally do a discount.

Prices will not be confirmed until nearer the time - remember these are due for Ausust release!

I know this thread is related to the summer releases of Technic sets, but are you all aware of the 'Caterham Super Seven' that has just been approved to become a Lego Ideas (ex CUSSOO) set ? In case you are interested, the project page is here; https://ideas.lego.com/projects/87703 and confirmation Lego are going to produce this is here; https://ideas.lego.com/blogs/1-blog/post/60. Also see here; http://www.pistonheads.com/news/ph-britishcars/leg... & http://www.pistonheads.com/news/british-cars/lego-... The set number is expected to be 21306 and it is thought that it will be released later this year. This set will no doubt be modified to conform to Lego principles using acceptable pieces and building techniques.

Now russy01 has already mentioned that getting these might be difficult...

Other kits which are not part of LEGOs "General Assortment" (Dr Who, Big Bang, CUSSOO etc) are patchy with availability and often only offered to us when a national account cancels an order and the stock filters down the ranks.
I'll leave him to comment on if this set is something that he might be willing to consider/pursue and whether it could be added to this thread or another...
Might have been better in the Technic Lego thread - http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a... - rather than a specific group buy thread.

Fair comment, sorry - only really included it here in case it could be included in the group buy.... but then its not even Technic....

Lets forget this. It can be raised elsewhere...
hehe

Could still be a long way off production, but if Russy can get them we'l try and do something.

Evening Chaps,

Personally wish they had kept it a darker colour, disguises the panel gapa - but oh well.

Anyway I have been trying to clear up the launch date as I have always been told August and LEGO have now come out on Facebook stating that its available June 1st.
Anyway my account manager seems to think that its still August for the UK, but is aware that other markets are launching earlier (why FFS!) I have asked her to clarify which market and when....

Cheers.
Lego really do like to be a PITA, don't they?
