How tough is Klear?
Discussion
Hi All,
Posting in this forum as I know you guys have a lot of experience with Klear (or Pledge Multi-surface Wax as it's now known) even though this isnt model related.
I have a Bakelite recorder that could do with a buff up, however the Bakelite will oxidise again if I can't find a way of protecting it. Most people recommend using car wax for Bakelite telephones and radios etc, but as I will be putting my lips round the recorder on a regular basis, I would imagine car wax would come off pretty quickly. I have heard Klear described as more like a varnish than a wax. Do you think Klear is tough and stable enough for me to use?
Thanks.

Thanks, that's useful to know. It actually sounds like the Klear might be best as it's so tough. I'm not looking for a mirror finish as the recorder will be handled a lot and covered in fingerprints anyway and I don't want something that's going to leave an unpleasant taste.
I'll have to give them both a try to see what works best.
