Signed in here this week:

http://brexitmodeller.com/forums/

It's a new scale modelling forum, all genres, all scales, all abilities:

Not widely advertised yet, but already a stack of high quality stuff on there, and an increasing number of familiar names who were "given a holiday" from...elsewhere (not P.H. I hasten to add!).

Run by a FRIENDLY admin team, who are open to suggestions (and implement them) about their forums.

It's a refreshing change, long overdue IMO.

Thanks Dr...you will be fed up with seeing my stuff on the various forums we both frequent! smile
It's all good AFAIC, new forums, new ideas etc.

The initial idea for the felt tip pen camo for the Macchi came from someone on Brexitmodeller, although it turned out to need some further research/refinement before it worked. Never considered it before then.

Is it only me or is everyone awaiting validation?

Is it because I haven't been sent to the naughty step any place lately, not even the place that does not get named

There are several, as you say, familiar names over there.

Me I'm having a new moniker for a new place, you'll still know it's me though because untidy models…

If I get validated
You don't have to have been banned - it's just another forum, although judging by some of the stories in non-modelling chat, I can see whey there's been a steady exodus over the years, including some the former inner circle from what I can gather.

There was an issue for validation when the site first started - pm me your username/email and I'll ask a mod for you.

BTW check this out - my pal (who you've met a couple of times at various shows) finally made a start on his paper ship model. Looks pretty damned good too so far:

he he

I don't think I will be unable to register, just seems odd these days that some sites still do the validate thing

I don't mind at all, probably helps keep the site clean

I have seen his boat in there, he's soon got the knack hasn't he

I like it lots

And that empty marker thing for dr jnr, brilliant

I suppose you can wash them out but 'can you clean the fibre tip?' seems the next question

I will be Lostoutthere over there

I hope, not giving up on the fatuous 'lost' principle, I always feel lost these days
I've pm'd a mod to ask if there's an issue with validation.

We cleaned the pen with acrylic thinners and soapy water. It all takes to bits so you can clean it pretty well. The tip has a few streaks of yellow still on it, but nothing drastic.

Hey Dr gn, have you seen your avtar lady as she is today.

Not sure that even the combined skills of the PH master modellers could bring her back to her former glory wink
Oh I dunno with some decent lighting and an experienced director I reckon she'd still do OK.

Will join up there at some point seeing as that's where all the other people that have been banned from somewhere else seem to have ended up!
That's why it was started - there were so many pissed off people (myself included) with no alternative, similar forum. Turns out it's become very popular, very quickly. I know one of the founders (as you no doubt do since I believe he built the 1:24 Typhoon for your display at Telford a couple of years back). The philosophy is to run the forums with the lowest possible amount of intervention/antagonism/ego.

I still haven't had an email authorization email yet? Strange.
CG are you in yet?

Should we prevail on doc to intercede for you?

Seemed to work for me wink

I hope it can settle down to being the excellent site it should be soon
I sent a pm to one of the admins after you two said you weren't authorized - I didn't get a reply though.

Yep I'm in cheers. Thanks
Just got notification from the mod I emailed that you're in. Might have been a coms issue between ISPs. Should be fine now.
