I'm fancying some winter tyres for my Megane.

Problem is I would really prefer to stick the tyres on some different alloys/steel wheels. They're the 5 bolts and need to fit over the rather large Brembos on the front.

Any recommendations?

Bah, did suspect as much.

Mark - was that for a 250/265 RS? Where did you get them from? And any ideas how much they'd go for second hand?

Okay, the 1.3s sound like a good option, I'm assuming they won't foul with the arch if they can stand up to track use! What size tyres do you use?

I guess any decent alloy wheel supplier will be able to supply them, unless you have any recommendations?

Well I sold them on Meganesport after I bought my Caterham, but they were running PS2s while my normal road wheels had (and still have) Goodyear Eagle F1 Assy 2 on them.

I really liked the PS2s on track. Plenty of grip, good wear levels and didn't seem to be unsettled by the RC5+ pads I had fitted.

The Pro Race 1.3 are an 8.5" rim though as opposed to the 8.25 supplied by Renault. They should probably have a 235/40 tyre on them instead of a 225. In fact, you could probably quite easily fit a 245 should you want to (just watch for that arch clearance!).
Just checking the website for those alloys

I assume you went for the maximum offset possible (ET52)? Will these fit straight on over the brakes without spacers?

Checked with my local tyre/wheel place (Turriff Tyres)

Regarding wheels, they recommended Imola or Monza (Team Dynamics) wheels over the Pro Race 1.3s as these would be a bit cheaper, any thoughts?

I was wondering that....

Not too bothered about weight as these are going to be winter wheels only.

Compatible ET is the issue. If you go beyond about 10mm difference you can have problems.

You can always just buy an extra standard Renault set.
Sure, I'll get back to them to check the offset on the wheels they recommended.

Dare I ask what the retail is on getting a set of Renault rims...? eek
