I post this with trepidation...
I got my 197 in December on 44k miles from an Evans Halshaw dealer. It had history with it but no invoices etc & no sign of a new gearbox or cambelt.
Got the belts etc done last weekend which cost me £540 all in which I was quite happy with but since then I've had a crunch twice when trying to engage 2nd gear. It's only happened twice and the car drives completely normally otherwise but I'm absolutely terrified that the gearbox may be on the way out given their reputation.
Does anyone have any advice of what I should be doing? Is it a waiting game or can I stop it from f
king up by changing the gearbox oil or something?
