Copied from GG

Well after changing my mind AGAIN about an E60...this caught my eye

I can get one for £9000 after part ex!! Looks stunning, kitted better.. But is it a viable car to run? Looking at a DSport. 13 reg - car giant.

Im not too keen on the E Class Merc - is that good? E200 CGi. Around £11,000 for 2010. £10k after part ex

Usual family car alternatives (Q5, Tiguan, Toaureg, etc.) but is the Citroen better value for money? Anything going wrong?

School run car, 3 kids, 1 adult usually. Holidays and weekends run by Audi A6.

Budget - £13,000.
Needs: leather, auto, nav.
Wants: full main dealer service history, 1 owner, not older than August 2008.

Sorry for too many threads and thanks.

So, any major problems I could know about? Avoid some?

One sold on cargiant for £10,799. Is that too cheap, market average is £11-12000.

It's not on anything at this precise moment. I'm getting ready to get it listed.
When do you think it'll be listed? If it's priced well for it's condition - it's clearly cared for - I will turn off notifications for Hybrid models and come and buy. I have a budget that gets me all the ones from Cargiant. Usually I can secure the deal on a weekend, if i can see it but can't buy it on the day then I will pick it up on a weekday

That being said, don't wait for me. It sounds lovely and I wish you luck in finding your buyer if I don't buy it smile

Ps:
Does it have Claudia/watchstrap leather, massaging seats, pano roof? Im confused because descriptions of Ds5's are usually very sparse.
Thanks smile

I think it will be within a week or thereabouts. It's not a hybrid though, just the 2.0 diesel auto.
Off to cargiant on Saturday - if i dont buy will give you a shout

No problem. Good luck with your hunt, if there are any specific questions or things you want to know about ds5s in general just let me know.
Hiya

Thanks! Good luck for your sale too.

The car in question has been sold - Cargiant will alert me if a Hybrid ds5 comes on sale.

In the meantime, I'm going to look at this
A few general questions.
This car has 'Claudia' leather. Is that good or bad? I hear about 'watchstrap' more..
Do they come with massaging seats and if so does your car have it?
Does the sat nav accept 7 digit postcodes now?
Any options I should look out for generally?

Thanks again

The watchstrap leather is an option, better quality leather finished in a 'watchstrap' style pattern. My wifes DS3 has watchstrap, my DS5 has claudia, both are fine.
A car of this age should have heated seats and drivers massage seat as standard, later they became optional extras.
Sat nav can be upgraded to 7 digit postcodes with a firmware and a map update. mine has been upgraded.
in terms of options, other than the watchstrap leather I don't think there were any on the Dsport. Maybe you could have DAB but it was a non integrated version and not available at all on hybrid. Everything else was standard, like cruise/limiter, auto lights/wipers, electric windows/seats/mirrors/roof blinds/ reverse camera/front & rear sensors/, adaptive lights, auto handbrake, etc etc.
Very nice. Not too fussed about DAB really, never had it before. If this is the second purchase then Other than this and my Audi I have never paid more than £2750 for a car in the last 10 years. Coming back to newer cars is challenging but Im bored of sheds and need a bit of modern metal....

How do you use your DS5? Family car? How much MPG do you get, is it close to Citröen's claims? How good is the stereo?

It was bought as a family car but mostly I am in it on my own, I have use of a company car quite a bit at the moment so mileage has really dropped off, only 3K since MOT In Feb. The trip computer says 40mpg give or take, I have no idea what Citroen claim. The stereo is pretty good, usual AM/FM radio, CD, USB inputs, BT streaming, steering wheel controls, plenty of speakers.
Hi

40mpg is decent for me. All this tech sounds like loads! The only "tech" the missus has is a cassette player.... wink

When you did the MOT, no advisories? Seeing you said FCSH, when is the next service? Thanks

No advisories, next service and MOT due Feb 17.
Thank you for answering all my questions.
As said, if the purchase doesnt go through, you are top priority.
Thanks again

Shame that, going from one of the most interesting cars on the market to one of the most boring.

At least it's not diesel. Enjoy.
I know, i know i wasnt too keen on it but its what the wife wants. I've placed a deposit on it, so I might back out and buy a 328i F30 but it's a lot steeper in the price.
Maybe I'll get the DS5 as my next car smile
