Peugeot 2008 improve bhp/speed

I bought a Peugeot 2008 1.2l, 2013 active model, only got it for its size and practicality with the boot etc, only issue is power. I could of got a much faster car for £8000 but this Peugeot has really low mileage 13k and 1 owner I couldn't pass that up since it was made in 2013 plus I love the look of them.

I do wish I got something more powerful but at the time I needed a car.

Everything is standard engine etc, what can I do to increase the bhp and speed etc? (keeping this car for a good few year, not in the position to buy another)

please help as its a pain in the back side overtaking, on banks and pulling off haha. its quick in second and third but after that its a lorry.
