Following on from my factory visit a couple of weeks ago, I test drove the GTC V8S (only PDI'd an hour earlier) down at Bentley Manchester yesterday; and paid my deposit on the spot. Lovely car. Smooth and well behaved on the twisties too, which really surprised me; and potent, very potent (and that's coming from a 510bhp DB9 owner). Allegedly it will be the first Mulliner spec car delivered in the UK, which only adds to the excitement of waiting until March to collect it. Pics to follow, but is Mulliner spec, Extreme Silver Metallic with Black Hood, Colour Split 8 Linen Main Hide and Beluga Black Secondary Hide <dribble>.

Also hope you are out of manufacturers warranty period - or you soon will be ;-)

A source of many a page or ten, across a number of forums, that.
I'm firmly of the 'they can find it' school of thought.
There is forum chatter about the existence of ECU 'counters' which can easily be read by dealer diagnostics (and questions asked about why your ECU is showing a '4' when there has only been '1' official software release/update etc).
That rules out even one of the USB-based write on/write off for servicing/write back remaps.
Look, even at a basic level, a tech has got to be able to tell the difference when he's driving a car producing 100bhp more than every other one he has driven that day/week/month/year?!
Not worth blowing the warranty for 100bhp (or whatever it is).
That's one reason why I've gone for the V8S; so I get 21 bhp more - granted for about £14k more - but at least if the engine blows I get a new one paid for LOL

Any specific tips on running in the new car? I'm assuming 1000 miles taking it relatively easy, not foot to the floor from Day One, but then again no harm in the odd bit of gusto after car has warmed up? 2 weeks and counting.......

I'm waiting for the detailer to bung some up as he was straight on the car after the mechanical PDI and always has some good angles etc.
I'll probably bung a few up as well; if I get the top down again tomorrow.
Thanks for the request/interest m8 :-)
