Hi all,
I just joined the forum today to get some feedback on dealer discount/margin on 1-2 year old Countryman.

My wife drives a UK-spec 2003 Mini Cooper Auto which she bought new and now has 90k on the clock. Now she wants to get a Countryman but I'm going to suggest she buys a pre-registered or a newish car (>2 y/o, 15k miles etc.). We would like the following spec:

- Auto
- Up to 15k miles
- Budget around £18k
- Chilli pack, sat nav and sunroof
- Preferably in BRG
- Cash buyer (don't want PCP/lease)

What is the likely discount % I should expect from buying a Cherished/Approved Used Mini? Is there any alternative way of getting a better discount (e.g. is there a known/friendly forum member who works for Mini etc.)? Any help will be much appreciated!

Thanks. I would like a Cooper Diesel Auto (SD would be OTT for my wife, not bothered either way about All4). Called a few dealers around and they do have stock dotted around the country but I'd like say £1k off asking price. Am I being too harsh you think?

Are dealers easily convinced to throw in extra 1 year extended warranty (as it may not cost them anything (should I not claim)?

IMO, I think the Countryman is fat/ugly and I would rather keep the R50 Mini, but having 2 kids makes the current car difficult to live with. Like many housewives, my wife would only drive a Mini and buy Apple products. She's a real sucker for "lifestyle" marketingfrown
