Our '08 Cooper S was fitted with a mechanical limited slip differential from the factory.
I recently drove it up a mountain pass in the rain and when accelerating out of some hairpins it didn’t seem like there’s much if any locking left. Does anybody know what type of differential Mini/BMW put in there? Is it worth rebuilding or should I go the Quaife route?

I didn't think the R56 had LSD option, and that it is an 'e' diff merely using traction control to brake the spinning wheel or similar? Obviously thought wrong ha
http://www.motoringfile.com/2009/07/20/mini-to-remove-mechanical-limited-slip-for-2010/They had the option from 2007-2009. I think it was relatively expensive, the previous owner specced it. It worked very well on corner exits with DSC off but now it appears to be worn out.
