I'm having exactly the same issue as in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w3B_L3CvZBY

Does anyone know what causes it?

The car has had various work done recently including replacing some of the oil feed lines and the high pressure fuel pump. It has enough oil/coolant and all the spark plugs are seated - not sure what else I can check without a code reader!

Thanks

Have you tried using both keys? Just in case one is not decoding correctly for the imobiliser.
I just tried with the second key. Got the same result - uploaded a video here

I tried a few times and at no point did the car actually start frown

I would look at high pressure fuel pump , poor starting and poor running when cold , very common problem on the S .
Seen this mentioned in several places. It's going to a garage tomorrow - any idea on price for the HPFP?

Had a decoke?
Again I have seen this mentioned in several places during my research. What's involved? I've yet to find an explanation, cost estimate or idea of if it actually works.

Cheers
